Hello! My name is Meredith Marsh. I’m a copy editor and writer working as a director of communications.
From writing and editing to design, my skill set covers a lot of ground. I like to go beneath the surface to understand how things work — like how a book gets made or how a complex topic is demystified through great writing. With both attention to detail and an eye on the bigger picture, I make the complicated coherent.
I’ve managed internal and external communications in the private, nonprofit and higher education sectors. I am equally comfortable with writing, editing and proofreading as I am with publication design and putting on a marquee event. I have more than 14 years of experience writing, editing publications, managing websites, executing marketing campaigns and project-managing complex events.
I earned a Master of Arts in Professional Writing from Carnegie Mellon University in 2022. I also have a Master of Science in Historic Preservation with a Certificate in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a minor in German from Louisiana State University.
I’m currently based in Pittsburgh, Pa. When I’m not editing and wordsmithing, you can find me devouring the footnotes in an annotated edition of 19th-century literature or dreaming about my next trip to Maine.
